Asset grouping is used to separate assets into user-defined groups. These user-defined groups can be used to define viewable sets of Assets for each user. This feature limits Assets to those that a user will deal with, for example: to separate Assets by location. By limiting Assets to only users that should have access to them, security is improved as you won't have to worry about a user accidentally changing a record for an Asset for which they are not accountable. Executives and managers who need an overall view can still view information regarding all assets. |
