How do I install a GAGEtrak software update? For example, I have GAGEtrak 6.59 and I want to update to GAGEtrak 6.61.
First, note the name and location for your GAGEtrak database. This information is displayed in the lower right corner of GAGEtrak’s Main Menu form. You will see the drive letter, path and name of your database file, typically GTData65.mdb.
Next, close GAGEtrak and install the update. The first time you open GAGEtrak, if you left everything the same when you reinstalled GAGEtrak, it should open linked to your current database. If it links to some other file, you can change this and link it to your current database. While viewing the Main Menu, on the menu bar in the upper left corner, click File -> Open Database -> Browse button. In the navigation window, you can find and open your current database. (This will be the file in the location you made note of before you installed GAGEtrak.) When you are installing a software update, you will always use the same database that you used before installing the update. The file will have the same name and it will reside in the same location. Please be careful never to run the Data Transfer Utility at any time when you install any updates. This can cause your data to be erased!!!
